Indonesians flee volcano eruption

An evacuation of 3.5 km (two miles) zone was established the last weekend, in which they live around 28,000 people, of whom have moved up to 4,400 now.

"Doesn't have any mass panic because the community has already warned of the situation and continue to evacuate people", Kristianto said.

Among the dozens of volcanoes in Indonesia, 1.580 m (5 ft 184) Mount Lokon is one of the most active. Amended, it erupted in 1991.
