What is wrong with the Web advertising

Two interesting items crossed my desk this morning, should read articles that everyone concerned to get the most out of their marketing. The first was published in Creative Media Media Post written by Ari Rosenberg, called "the problem with creative ads Online nobody wants to hear." Rosenberg says "Web is experienced predominantly in tranquility" an issue we've been talking about for years. I would add that the problem is not only a silent Web, is a Web where audio is Miss used and abused by advertisers who do not understand how to use sound design and music to motivate public action. You can read the article on http://www.mediapost.com/publications/?fa=Articles.showArticle&art_aid=132001&lfe=1.

The second element that should appeal to all those who pray to the God of medium size; Abe Sauer writes "Media too quick to label Old Spice man a failure." Read the article on brandchannel to http://www.brandchannel.com/home/post/2010/07/23/Media-Quick-To-Label-OLd-Spice-A-Failure.aspx. In short, the article uses the now famous Old Spice campaign to explain what we know but just can't accept and that is, there are "lies, damned lies and statistics".

So think twice the next time that your video producer tells that he is going on just slap some royalty free music instead of creating a soundscape of signature, or when making a decision marketing campaign based on statistics and analytics that really completely do not understand.
