HP Wi-Fi Mobile mouse review

If you want a wire-free mouse if you want to use with your laptop, but not count you can spare a USB port on a wireless dongle, HP Wi-Fi Mobile mouse to be right up your street.

Unlike the average wireless peripherals to HP Chin directly to your laptop Wi-Fi. In theory, you can only hits the button Connect leaving the precious USB port free.

It is a nice idea and worked well when we had got our heads around the idea that, for once, the drivers really was necessary (we have become so sexes with peripheral drivers that we have tried all different solution first). It is probably to make dongle-free wireless work that HP has been so prescriptive about your PC installation. Who is a stickler for drivers, HP Wi-Fi Mobile mouse only with Windows 7 machines, leaving XP fans and Mac sponsors in the cold.

That small caveat aside, but we were very impressed by the HP device. It is symmetric (as I dislike something) and Panel battery comes out a bit too easy but it is otherwise attractive, rugged, comfortable to use and accurate.

HP fits nicely in the palm, although as a "mobile" product it is smaller than most desktop mice, similar in size to the Logitech anywhere. We liked the weight and feeling of solidity, but again, 107 g should not be too much of a burden for the laptop-toting road warriors.

The upperparts are done in a kind of black brushed metal effect, and feels good in your fingers. Side buttons, scrollwheel and detailing are pale silver, and the buttons page stand out slightly, making them much easier to hit. It would be nice if the button farthest to the right was further forward, but it is a side effect of going for a symmetric design. Buttons page is preprogrammed to back and forth in a Web browser.

Scrollwheel can be pressed down, ordinary "fifth button" arrangement. This is preset to switch the mouse to a comfortable quickly browse action, whereby mousing up or down, power up or down through your iTunes library or long Web page.

All mouse buttons can be programmed to re-other functions.
