Blog and RSS Feed Etiquette
By Sharon Housley

Citizen journalists and writers have become common place on the web. Perhaps they are considering blogs, but you are not sure of how to enter the world of online journal. As the medium has grown, I thought that a good idea would be to put together some general guidelines for new bloggers and reminders to veteran bloggers practice blogs. There is no Emily post in blogs that offers advice for tag or a Miss Manners that details appropriate behavior. That doesn't mean that they are not acceptable and unacceptable actions that must be bloggers. To communicate effectively as a blogger on the Internet, it is essential to understand the unwritten rules of the label's blogs. If copying other blog post should link to? Yes, modal blog dictates that you do everything possible to the original source of the entry in the blog of credit, this must be done through a link. The link must not contain the "nofollow" tag. In general terms the comment on the above post, must be at least as long as the post which is copied. How can you quote from another persons blog post? Use just allow posts or parts of the posts to be cited, but is generally good practice to only include what is necessary to maintain the context of the post. To register an extract from another person, it is imperative that the context of the post remains intact. If someone complains about having a blog post copied, what should you do? The appropriate course of action would be to eliminate the position of offending and replace with the text that explains why the post was removed. Even if you think that the post was just fair use and not a violation of copyright, net courtesy dictates that respect the wishes of the original poster, and remove the content. So why should credit your sources? Always the sources of your credit information. Attribution is important, not only expands its credibility, but it will also help to build the canal's future content. Sources, seeing that often appropriate attribution will reward you with additional information in the future. DoHow to validate information? As a blogger, reputation is everything. All elements must be confirmed before registration. Consider the possibility of using two sources to verify that the information is accurate prior to accounting. Also always use reliable sources. Second supply and depend on reliable sources will ensure that posts are accurate. I made a mistake, what should I do? If you have a change of heart, or posted something isn't reliable at 100%, I apologize to readers and correct the information as soon as possible. It is not only right thing to do, but feeds or blog entries are often syndicated and if not corrected the words they could perpetuate the existence. If the error occurs in a blog, in addition to publishing a sorry, return to the original and strikethrough post incorrect content and add a comment indicating why the post was changed. How should my formatted messages? Leap posts into readable chunks. Generally the best jobs are divided into several paragraphs. Take care not to alienate readers through the use of capital letters, this is considered "shouting" online and it is considered very rude. Have to use a correct grammar blog? Correct grammar, grammar and spelling issues may be insignificant when messaging with their friends but blogs, immortalize his words, the Internet is turning into a file for the past. Proper grammar should always be used when blogging or accounting to an RSS feed. Doit off the record really means? Always respect their sources. If say you something "off the record" does not inform about it, post or share with anyone. What is property? Creative works are owned. In United States and many other countriesm, even if the creator does not apply for a copyright law, creative works are protected by copyright laws when creating creative work. Unless the creator renounces those rights, the creative may not reproduce or modify without permission of the creators. Property work includes images, text, music or software. If the publication of a controversial work is desirable to include the opposite point of view? Depends on the style of your blog or RSS feed, but in general, it is better to include a point of view opposing the controversial elements. Allow readers to see both sides in the dispute, which respect the balance provide. After basic netetiquette when blogging and accounting to RSS feeds to build credibility and a follow-up of loyal readers. About the author:
