The Internet continues to move Away from the right people. Four years ago, I had the happiness of meeting with one of the fathers, the God of Internet industry, esteemed Doc Searls, you can know his contribution to the book the Cluetrain Manifesto. Doc invited me to uber think-tank, Harvard Berkman Center which focuses on how the Internet affects society and during lunch Doc shared with me his woes as each medical provider (physician and pharmacist, SWP outside) do not have any opportunities to write complete data, or as a sales person will contact him when he was not ready to buy.
Understanding of VRM systems
As a result he began to explain to me about the supplier relationship management (VRM) system designed for buyers and people to power over the institutions. What is the VRM? This is a continuation of the trends in social business space, which puts the power in the hands of the people: This allows buyers to submit applications for sellers, anon and force vendors to bid for business is based on conditions that buyers want. No more intrusive sales calls must be made no more spam should be reviewed, and it allows customers to quickly get to bid against each other in real time – dropping prices, accelerate the sales process.
Simply put: VRM systems put the power in the hands of buyers, sellers in their process and the transition of power from sellers.
Consumer space gives early forerunners of VRM
Approximately one year later I made some projections from my former employer, which we would start seeing VRM systems appear, and although we were defined correctly, it happened more slowly than we predicted, but now, we continue to see growth. It has been several years since a VRM was predicted to grow and now we see movement. First of all in the space of the owner of the House, we are already seeing a red beacon, FindaPro, and in one form or another, Angie's list, which allows home owners put out a request for quote for local labourers and soldiers. However, unlike the "wanted list" on Craigslist, these systems are designed to the customer in control, by creating opportunities for a systematic process to get to the buyer quickly sort and arrange quotes, not just swamped with different vendors.
For the it industry Spiceworks launches VRM, entitled "Clarification"
Fast forward to today, I was informed a few weeks ago as an Altimeter client (see disclosure page about how and why we disclose) growing community IT Spiceworks releases first (or one of the first) examples of VRM for the it industry. This allows the members of their community (IT customers) use request for quote (clarification) to determine what is lower than the cost of products (e.g., laptops, printer ink and other products), they must purchase their request for proposals, and immediately send quote vendors who will then provide the applications. There are four main functional areas for customers including: anonymous requests, quote, it gives buyers to avoid getting spam outside of channels, they do not want to, puts the power in the hands of buyers, secondly, the system supports multiple providers so any vendor who wants to use this channel can. Finally update templates provide a way for customers to keep their RFPS, and then share and learn from other customers.
What does it mean:
Buyers will establish control over the shopping space – reported lower margins. Although the system currently being offered at a low cost technology products (not expensive multi-year deployment it) expect this trend to continue until the stack, and then to the markets of other enterprises such as services, the marketing of products and trading operations. However, savvy sellers can benefit by streamlining the sales process friction-reducing sales costs. Although continuing reorientation of the buyers and people from Internet technologies, savvy retailers can use this to find prospects who are under consideration and the intentions ofIT suppliers and vendors, you must assign the sales resources for monitoring and management. This is the main sales team provides trading and sales reps for the monitoring of these channels, fast response and consider requests for the right commands this entry was posted on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 6: 40 am and is filed under social media, VRM.
