Use browser extensions are much as tricking out your car with a new air spoiler, tinted Windows, chrome rims and big flame decals. Too much spam and you bog down your ride and look stupid. With thousands of Firefox extensions to choose from, the greatest challenge to find correct and avoid the Lama.
I rounded up ten of the most useful Firefox addons, all of which strike the right balance by increasing performance and saves time. I'll let you worry about whether you should add the racing stripes in your Toyota Camry.

Popular web app Evernote has the filename extension for Firefox that makes it easy to create notes for yourself from any part of a Web page that you have selected. Your notes can include text, pictures and even video that synchronizes to your phone while you're away from your computer.

Greasemonkey Firefox extension, you can create scripts to do almost anything, from customizing search queries on your browser to embed the music control buttons on the toolbar to add Gmail notifications to tabs.
Once you have downloaded the extension, you can find lots of great user scripts on userscripts.org sites that you can customize Web sites. A great starter script, Gmail FullScreen, you can use Google's Webmail in full-screen mode instead of in a window.

If you find yourself switching between your iPhone, your laptop and your Android Tablet PC regularly, Xmarks just might be the extension for you. Xmarks synchronizes your information between the browser, too.
